There is a phrase that has been tossed around throughout time which simply states “History is always written by the winners. When two cultures clash, the loser is obliterated, and the winner writes the history books -- books which glorify their own cause and disparage the conquered foe." As Napoleon once said, "What is history, but a fable agreed upon”? What is not apparent to the people of today, is that the history books are being written anew, even as decades pass, rather than centuries. Could it be imaginable that the events of just the past 100 years have been massively skewed right before our eyes? It is an easy enough concept when we realize that even the longest-living people are typically only 90 to 100 years of age. If there is no one alive that can argue the point of what actually happened on the ill-fated Titanic, then the historians - read "powers that be" - could write anything.
If you are so inclined, try to obtain a set of grade school or high school history books. Try to go back 50 years. Let them each be a decade apart. You would have six books that gradually change the events that happened. This is regarding the purpose for wars, their cost, death totals, artifacts lost, etc. This has actually been proven to be true and it is an alarming realization. We are well now within the 21st century. This means that there is probably not a person alive that can give personal testimony on any event that occurred prior to 1900. How certain can we be of anything which is generally believed to be true history? Even barbarians and murders do not want to be remembered as such. They would rather write their own epitaph which would be the factual representation for all eternity. We had all better pray that “The kingdom of God lies within us” because our chances of finding it within the walls of the city library are going to be highly unlikely.
